Wax Seal of Leopold II
18th century red wax seal of Leopold II (Peter Leopold Joseph Anton Joachim Pius Gotthard, 1747-1792) as Grand Duke Peter Leopold of Tuscany(1765-1790). The seal is encased in an engraved and gilt brass capsule with “L II” surrounded by a wreath and crown with the coat of arms on the reverse of Grand Duchy of Tuscany, including Lorraine, Austria, and Tuscany(Medici). The wax seal itself completes the Middle Arms with Hungary, Bohemia, Burgundy, Bar(rois) and Tuscany.
All finished with original gilt metal thread and tassels.

He was the son of Emperor Francis I(1708-1765) and Empress Maria Theresa(1717-1780). Upon the death of his brother Joseph II(1741-1790), he became Holy Roman Emperor of the German Nation(1790-1792). Founder of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine.
