Italian Agnus Dei wax disc of the jubilee year 1775 for Pope Pius VI (Born Count Giovanni Angelo Braschi 1717, Died 1799),

SANCTUS PETRUS EREMITIA (Saint Peter the Hermit) with an image of him kneeling with staff with ANNO IVBILEI MDCCLXXV. The reverse bears the image of the Lamb of God with surrounding ECCE AGNVS DEI QVI TOL PEC MVN / PIUS VI / AN IVB 1775

References to Agnus Dei date back to 820 AD in Rome. They were cast from the remnants of the preceding year's paschal candles with the addition of chrism(olive oil and balsam) and blessed. The consecrated wax medallions represented the flesh of Christ and offered its owner protection over many evils.
